Ideal room gives you a full, unrestricted stroke on every shot. Minimum room is still playable — you’ll use a shorter cue or the rest on a few shots. Sizes are nominal; contact us for exact cabinet dimensions of a specific model.

guidelines for your pool table installation

01 Mind the doorways
Slate beds weigh up to 180kg each. We need 800mm minimum doorway clearance and a clear path from the truck to the room — including stairs, lifts, and corners.
02 Solid floor, level floor
A finished, level subfloor is essential. Carpet over solid hardwood or tile is fine; a 9ft slate table loads ~360kg over four corners and will telegraph any deflection.
03 Light it properly
We recommend planning a pendant light 850–950mm above the playing surface, centred over the table.
04 Climate matters
Aim for stable 18–24°C and relative humidity 40–60%. Avoid placing tables next to fireplaces, large windows or air-conditioning vents — sustained extremes can move timber and felt over years.
05 Short cues for tighter spaces
If you're 100–200mm short on one side only, a 48" cue solves it most of the time. We can provide a pair of shorter cues where clearance is borderline.
06 Snooker needs more
A 12ft full-size snooker table needs 6.86 × 5.07m for a 57" cue — non-negotiable. If your room is smaller, a 10ft snooker table or 9ft pool table gives you proper play in less space.
